Whimsey Lane Apparel Review

Whimsey Lane Apparel sells modest dresses and is now launching their brand new line of modest swimwear!  If you are in the market for a modest dress or swimming suit then this is for you! ; )
The dress that I reviewed was the Ava dress in the black color!  I absolutely love this dress!  I love how modest and comfortable it is!  Another thing that I love is that the dress can be worn plain or with accessories.  Their are so many ways to dress it up!  The material moves with you, I have 2 very busy boys and felt very modest and comfortable while wearing this dress.  Check out Whimsey Lane Apparel!

Here are a few more pictures of the Ava dress:

I am so excited about the launch of the new swimwear line!  Click here to check out some of the awesome swimming suits! ; )  I love the Linda Adjustable Tankini in Red Polka.  Isn't it so cute, modest, and fun!?
Whimsy Lane Apparel gave me the Ava dress to review and share with you!  All opinions are 100% my own!

Week 6: Check out a new store!

This 30 minute Thursday was a little different since it was my husbands spring break and he was able to be with us.  We have been wanting to check out "The Bass Pro Shop" in town.  We went together as a family and just loved it!  We saw some GIANT fish and even got to climb onto the boats.  We had so much fun, but you may need to plan more than 30 minutes for this activity! ; )

Another store we love to explore is Cabela's, but we don't have one nearby.  If you do have one nearby go check it out!   If not Heather shared a post about Sock Fishing!  It's a great activity to keep the kids happy, my boys love it!

Thanks for stopping by the 6th week of

Easter Story Cookies

A friend of mine shared this wonderful Easter tradition of making Easter Story Cookies. It's a tradition that I really enjoyed and a recipe I wanted to add to our family collection and share with you.

You will Need:
1 C whole pecans or chocolate
3 egg whites
1 C sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
ziploc baggie
copy of the Bilble
wooden spoon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Place pecans in ziploc baggie and have children beat them into small pieces with the wooden spoon. Explain that after Jesus was arrested he was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read John 19: 1-3

Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 tsp. vinegar in mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross he was given vinegar to drink. Read John 19: 28-30

Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave his life to give us life eternal. Read John 10: 10-11

Sprinkle a little bit of salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and then brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers. Read Luke 23:27

Add 1 cup sugar to the mixture. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because he loves us. Read Psalms 34:8 and John 3:16

Beat the mixture on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents purity. Each of us can be pure after we repent because of the atonement of Christ. Read Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3

Fold in the broken nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid. Read Matthew 27:57-60

Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF. Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed or closed. Read Matthew 27:65-66

Go to bed. Explain that the children may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read John 16:20 and 22

On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and then take a bite. The cookies are hollow. On the first Easter Jesus' friends were surprised to find the tomb open and empty. Read Matthew 28:1-9 HE IS RISEN!

April is here!

Do you feel like you struggle balancing all the different roles that you have as a mom?  I know that I do!  Sometimes I feel like I just want to be better at EVERYTHING and all at once! ; )  Heather and I decided that we would choose one role that we have as mothers, and focus on it for a whole month.  We would love for you to follow along with us.

In January we shared some simple things that we have done to organize our homes and also some fun ideas we have organized like mommy and me field trip groups and busy bag swaps.

In February our focus with each blog post was on ways that we can show love to those we care about.  I loved Heather's basket of sunshine post, she also shared some cute tags that she made with sayings to go with some of her favorite candy bars.

For the month of March we focused on our roles as Nurse and Physical Trainer.  Heather is expecting baby #3 in June!!!!  She shared some fun and helpful things to go along with pregnancy!  I shared some tips and tricks that have helped us in our journey as mothers!

Well, April is here!  This month we will be focusing on two of our roles as mothers.  Heather will take the first two weeks and share ideas on party planning and share some of her traditions.  I will spend the last two weeks of April sharing information on emergency preparedness and will be continuing 30 minute Thursdays!
